An investigation into the credentials of the CEO of Toronto Hydro has found he did not have the university diploma he claimed.
According to The Toronto Star newly unearthed transcripts found Anthony Haines said he graduated from the University of Lethbridge in 1984 from the Bachelor of Commerce program with an accounting major.
The university told The Star it does not offer a Bachelor of commerce program and Haines was never awarded a degree.
The Star reports according to a source city council told the Board of Toronto Hydro to investigate Haines’ academic credentials.
Haines told The Star he is deeply sorry for the confusion and never meant to mislead anyone.
