The Canadian Coast Guard says one of its helicopters has crashed in the Arctic and three people are dead.
The coast guard says the aircraft operating from the icebreaker Amundsen crashed Monday night in the M’Clure Strait off the coast of Banks Island in the western Arctic.
A Transportation Safety Board official says the helicopter was a Messerschmitt BO-105.
The dead include the pilot, a coast guard officer and a researcher.
The safety board is investigating.
