Former Ontario health minister George Smitherman’s husband is missing.
Toronto police are asking for the public’s help in locating Christopher Peloso, who was last since on Monday around 4 p.m. in the Davenport and Bathurst Street area.
Police are concerned for his safety.
He is 39 and is being described as white, 5-foot-8, 150 pounds, with brown eyes and short, light-brown hair.
He was wearing a dark-blue jacket with a hood, tan-coloured cargo shorts, and blue flip-flops.
Smitherman posted a link to his statement from his Twitter page on Tuesday afternoon. It reads:
I regret to confirm that Christopher Peloso has been missing from our home for almost 24 hours
Michael, Kayla and myself, with the support of family and friends, are hopeful that our husband and father
will be home safely soon.

Peluso and Smitherman, a former mayoral candidate, were married in 2007 and have adopted two children.
