A judge has denied bail for an Etobicoke woman accused of trying to murder her 11-year-old son.

The judge sided with the crown that the woman is a danger to the public.

The 32-year-old woman’s next court date is slated for later this month.

Her name is being withheld to protect the child.

She was also been charged with aggravated assault and failing to provide the necessaries of life.

Police were called to a building on Eva Road near the West Mall and Burnamthorpe on Aug. 30 after 911 calls reporting a woman screaming and what sounded like a child being beaten.

Officers couldn’t get in so had to break in to gain access into the apartment.

When they got into the apartment, they found an 11-year-old boy with serious head injuries.

The boy is in hospital in life-threatening condition.

Two other children have been removed from the home and are now in the care of Children’s Aid Society.
