Mayor addresses allegations of drinking at Taste of Danforth

TORONTO – Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is once again at the centre of a social media frenzy after admitting he had a few beers at the Taste of the Danforth this past weekend.

Three videos were posted on YouTube as the mayor wandered the streets and spoke to several people, appearing inebriated on Friday.

During a weekly radio talk show on Sunday, the mayor’s brother councillor Doug Ford called the mayor an “average guy.”

Councillor Ford said his brother “seemed alright” when he saw him that same night.

Ford said he posed for hundreds of photos while at the street festival.

He also said he thinks the incident is being blown out of proportion, but did apologize to anyone who may have been offended by his behaviour.

Ford was been on the list of the top trending items on Twitter all weekend.

The mayor did not respond to calls and emails from 680News looking for a comment, but addressed the public and media on his weekly radio show “The City.”
