What does your music say about your driving?

TORONTO – The type of music you’re listening to could impact your driving habits, according to a survey.

Dance music fans were reported most likely to not have a driver’s licence, according to the Kanetix.ca survey.

The online comparison website for insurance commissioned a survey of 1,000 Canadian drivers who were asked what they listen to in the car and about their driving record.

Those who listen to metal are among those most likely to be busted for careless driving, the survey found.

One woman spoke to 680News about her run-ins.

“It’s probably rock music listeners and that’s because I tend to get speeding tickets and get into accidents — don’t tell my mom.”

According to the survey, nearly half of those who listen to folk music, have never had a speeding ticket.

Alternative rock listeners were the most likely to have never been at fault in an accident, the survey found.

On the other hand, 60 per cent of hip hop and R&B listeners have been in at fault in an accident, according to the survey.

Reggae listeners are most likely to ask to be let off from a ticket.

Then there is Aaron, who has a clean record.

“I usually listen to 680News,” he says.
