MONTREAL – Crews are cleaning up in Quebec today after a violent storm that killed one, injured 10 others and left thousands without power.

Hydro Quebec crews worked through the night to fix power lines downed by fallen trees and snapped branches.

About 276,000 customers are still without electricity today — down from more than half-a-million on Friday.

The powerful wind and rain swept through Ontario and southwest Quebec.

A municipal employee in Boucherville, a suburb of Montreal, died when a branch fell in a local park.

Two other people were injured.

Eight children were injured in Prevost when a tent at a day camp came down on its occupants.

Areas around Laval, the Laurentians, Lanaudiere and the Outaouais region were hit hardest by the storm.
