TORONTO – A severe thunderstorm watch is no longer in effect for Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, Environment Canada says.

A watch was issued for Toronto and the GTA earlier Wednesday and ended around 7 p.m.

There is no longer a warning in place for Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Halton Hills and Hamilton.

A warning is also over for Pickering, Oshawa and southern Durham Region.

The watch and warning came just two days after a record-smashing rainfall in Toronto that drenched the city with 126 millimetres.
