School bus catches fire in Vaughan; no injuries

VAUGHAN, Ont. – A public school in Vaughan had to be ventilated after a school bus fire outside the school, Tuesday.

Smoke from the fire filled Thornhill Woods Public School, and students from that school were taken to Stephen Lewis Secondary School as a precaution.

York Regional Police told 680News the fire started at around 8:40 a.m. in front of the school, located near Bathurst Street and Rutherford Road.

No injuries were reported.

The bus was completely destroyed, and the cause of the fire is not yet known.
