TORONTO, Ont. – A reminder to travellers, a portion of the Yonge-University-Spadina line is closed until Monday due to signal work.

The subway is shut down between Union and St. George stations, with regular subway service set to resume at 6 a.m. Monday.

Since subway trains will end at St. George and Union stations, shuttle buses will be provided every three to five minutes instead.

The Yonge portion of the line will have full service between Finch and Union stations.

The Toronto Transit Commission says the work will include modernizing the TTC signals, relays, wiring and cabling equipment.

Should workers be able to finish their work today, this should be the last weekend we will have to deal with a planned closure on the University line for some time.
