OSHAWA – Four suspects were arrested after an armed home invasion in Oshawa Thursday morning that prompted a brief lock down at the nearby residences of Durham College.

The suspects broke into a house on Dalhousie Crescent, right behind Durham College at Simcoe and Conlin roads, around 12:30 a.m.

Authorities put the nearby college residence in lockdown as a precaution for about two and a half hours.

The home invasion prompted a police chase that ended about seven kilometers away on Thickson Road in Whitby. Of the four men taken into custody, one was taken to hospital complaining of chest pains.

Charges against the men are pending.
