Truck brings down wires on Queen, near Broadview

TORONTO – Downed wires on Queen Street East caused major headaches for streetcar riders on Wednesday morning.

A garbage truck brought down overhead wires at Degrassi Street around 5 a.m., prompting streetcar diversions for the 501 Queen and 504 King streetcars through the morning rush.

Police closed Queen between Saulter and Degrassi streets until 8:45 a.m.
