JERUSALEM – President Barack Obama says he’s certain he could have done things differently when it comes to the Mideast.
But he says bringing peace to the region is “a really hard problem” to solve — one that’s lingered for more than 60 years.
Obama also suggests that failure to reach an agreement in his first term between Israelis and Palestinians doesn’t mean that he “screwed up somehow.”
Obama says all sides have deep interests and internal politics to deal with, just as he does back home.
Obama spoke at a news conference in Jerusalem with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (neh-ten-YAH’-hoo).
Obama arrived Wednesday on his first presidential visit to Israel.
