BRAMPTON, Ont. – A man is dead after being struck by a car in Brampton Friday night, according to Peel Regional Police.
The man was found without vital signs when emergency crews arrived on the scene at Steeles Avenue and Torbram Road around 9:30 p.m. Friday.
One witness spoke with CityNews at the scene of the crash.
“Well basically we were standing outside and we heard a big bang,” the man said. “We thought a car had hit a post or something, I told my friend to run over and see what was going on.”
“When he went over there was someone lying on the floor, (my friend) came running back and said the guy looks very serious, it looks like a pedestrian has been struck – we didn’t realize how bad it was.”
The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police.
There has been no word on whether they may face charges related to the incident.
Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the crash is being asked to contact police.
