TORONTO – Police across the Greater Toronto Area will be cracking down on unsafe drivers on what’s expected to be a busy bar weekend with St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and a big UFC card.
Officers in Durham, York and Peel regions, as well as Toronto police and the Ontario Provincial Police, said they will be keeping an even closer eye on the roads.
A driver safety blitz will be held in York Region and numerous R.I.D.E. programs are being set up.
According to police, drinking and driving goes up at this time of the year, and they want to remind people it’s a serious crime.
