TORONTO – Luminato is teaming up with The New York Times to bring the paper’s TimesTalks series to Canada.
TimesTalks Luminato debuts at the Toronto arts festival in June with onstage interviews including actor Willem Dafoe and Atom Egoyan.
Dafoe will be in town to appear in Marina Abramovic’s experimental opera “The Life And Death Of Marina Abramovic,” while Egoyan is directing the short opera “Feng Yi Ting.”
On June 15, Dafoe and his director Robert Wilson will be interviewed by writer and former New York Times arts critic John Rockwell. Later that day, architects Liz Diller and Charles Renfro chat with New York Times culture reporter Robin Pogrebin.
On June 16, Egoyan talks to New York Times culture reporter Dan Wakin and later, artists from the Luminato Joni Mitchell concert “Joni: A Portrait In Song – A Birthday Happening Live At Massey Hall” chat with New York Times pop music critic Jon Pareles.
Luminato runs June 14 to 23 in Toronto.
