TORONTO – Along with the snow melting, the GTA is in for rain Monday and Tuesday, and that has rivers and streams rising.

Toronto and Region Conservation is asking people to be cautious near waterways.

They’re urging residents to keep family members and pets away from the water’s edge this spring.

While spring doesn’t officially start until March 20, the spring thaw is already underway.

Meanwhile, Environment Canada’s special weather statement calling for significant rainfall has ended for Toronto and the GTA. The statement went into effect Sunday late afternoon and ended at around 8 a.m. Monday.

It will be mild day Monday, with a high of 10 C in the forecast and a brisk wind.
