A 17-year old Toronto girl is turning her own struggle with cancer into a way to help others with theirs.

Carley Allison was recently diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer and is scheduled for surgery at Toronto General Hospital this Thursday.

The aspiring singer/song-writer sang a cover of a One Direction song, “More than This” to help raise money for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

There is a video of her singing the song on Youtube and the description says she sang it after a tracheotomy surgery.

She and her family will be hosting a media event about her fundraising efforts on Tuesday evening.
