TORONTO – York Street is closed to motorists from north of Front Street to Piper Street due to construction work on the PATH pedestrian network.
The construction is expected to last for a total time of nearly 10 months.
All northbound traffic on York Street will be redirected onto University Avenue.
Local access to York Street will be provided by a new eastbound lane being implemented on Wellington Street, and York Street will become a two-way street between Wellington and the construction zone to provide local access.
It’s all part of the Union Station revitalization project, which aims to improve pedestrian access to and from Union Station.
Pedestrian access will remain available during the closure.
