TORONTO – Drivers travelling along a portion of Highway 7 in York Region this week could find it slower than usual.
Contractors from Metrolinx and York Region will be doing surveying work along Highway 7 between Keele and Jane streets, in advance of construction of rapidway-bus only lanes in the centre of the roadway.
Intermittent lane closures will take place March 4-11, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
York Regional Police officers will be on scene directing traffic, if necessary.
York Region Transit riders using the 77 Highway 7/Centre bus route could encounter delays.

You can’t survey in the middle of the night.
The comment above is proof people just complain without knowing anything
@Original Canadian, VivaNext has been the only major construction project that I can remember in my lifetime that has put extensive effort into making sure as much work is done overnight as possible. I get weekly email notifications letting me know about the planned work (anyone can sign up to get them) and they do work all through the night to minimize road closures during rush hour periods.
PS: I’m no surveying expert, but I’m pretty sure that’s one activity that should probably be done during the day.
This is the kind of activity that should be done in the middle of the night.
Traffic in the area is already way above capacity. This will make it harder to travel; East-West all the way up to Major Mack!
Further proof that those responsible don’t understand “needs”
