TORONTO, Ont. – A man in his 40′s is dead after a single-vehicle crash on the Eastbound Highway 403 ramp to Mavis Road in Mississauga.
As a result of the police investigation the area was closed for several hours until approximately 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
The crash happened at approximately 4:30 a.m. Sunday, according to OPP Sergeant Dave Woodford.
“The vehicle exited at Mavis Road, according to witnesses at an excessive speed for the ramp,” Woodford said.
Police believe the driver lost control, and when he left the roadway he struck some of the items at the side of the road.
“A trailer and containers off of the highway, it looks like it went head-on into the construction equipment that was parked off of the roadway,” Woodford added.
The man was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash happened, CityNews is reporting.
Witnesses are being asked to come forward and contact police or Crime Stoppers.

Yes sad that he may have survived if he had been wearing a seatbelt, there is no good reason not to and an airbag is not going to save you. Speed does not kill, that is a wrong perception, (if it did you would all be dead when flying off somewhere) ..its driver inexperience and mistakes that get you into trouble…and we all do it lets not kid ourselves. Also the condition of ones vehicle plays a big part in whether it can handle the “speed” and “maneuvers” its doing… if you have worn out tires and its snowing or ice … you are going to crash no matter what speed you are doing .. (as an example). Who knows what the conditions were like for this person, whatever they were they all added up to his death and a waste of a life.
This is a loss of a life and we don’t know what the driver’s circumstances were at the time, all respect should we given to the dead…
Speed Kills, so sad.
Over-speeding will never save time
I just don’t understand why anyone would get into any vehicle and not put on their seatbelt.
