The stars will be bright in Toronto Sunday night, as the first ever Canadian Screen Awards are hosted.
The award show is designed to replace the Genie and Gemini award shows, which have historically honoured the best in Canadian film and television.
Run by The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television, the new award show will recognize the brightest stars in our film, television and digital media industry.
The first ever show will be hosted by Martin Short and be broadcast on the CBC at 8 p.m. Sunday.
“You’re there to celebrate an audience full of people that have worked hard, and to celebrate all the great work that has been done the last year,” Short said.
The show will be filmed at the Sony Centre in Toronto.
