Mississauga toddler found safe after alleged parental abduction

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – A two-year-old Mississauga girl is safe after an alleged parental abduction Wednesday morning.

Peel Regional Police said the toddler was located unharmed with one of her grandparents in a north Toronto home.

Police were called to an apartment in the Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue area at around 11 a.m. after the girl was allegedly taken by her father, investigators said.

Police said the suspect allegedly tried to break down the door before taking the child.

Police are urging Mohammed Salim, 24, to surrender.

“It might be in his best interest to take a look at the situation and find himself some representation and turn himself in to police,” Const. Thomas Ruttan.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-453-2121.
