Man wanted in string of gas thefts in east-end

Toronto police released an image of a suspect wanted in connection with a string of gas thefts in Scarborough.

TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto police are seeking a suspect in connection with nine gas-and-dash thefts at Scarborough gas stations.

Police said between March 2012 and February 2013, a man travelled to nine gas stations in the Scarborough area in a car with stolen licence plates.

Police allege the man failed to pay for gas and fled.

The car is described as a gold or beige, 2000-2005 Pontiac Grand Am with stolen Ontario licence plate BFSB 544.

The suspect is described as white, between 40 and 50 years old, 6′ and 220 lbs.
