Herbal tea brand recalled over salmonella fears

A brand of herbal tea that was distributed across Ontario, Quebec and the Western Provinces has now been recalled.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning the public not to consume Organic Lemon Hibiscus Green Rooibos Herbal Tea sold in packages of 24 tea bags.

Specifically the affected products have a UPC number of 6 64322 10406 0 and best before dates of 2014 FE 01, 2014 MR 27, and 2014 MR 28.

No illnesses have been reported in association with the product, but Nu-Tea Company from Abbotsford B.C. is voluntarily recalled the affected product.

Food infected with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled and can lead to significant illness.
