TORONTO, Ont. – The Battle of Ontario will kick up a notch Saturday night when the Leafs visit Ottawa to take on the Senators.
This will be the first time the Buds play in the nation’s capital since the Senators revealed plans to keep noisy Leafs fans out of their building.
With fans in Ottawa complaining that they are often drowned out by loud and rowdy Leafs fans, the club took action.
The Sens offered a deal to season ticket holders allowing them to purchase discounted tickets, but only on the condition that they don’t give those discounted tickets to Leaf fans.
Many members of Leaf Nation laughed off the attempt, like Lorraine Williams from Kanata, who says she’s heading to the game regardless.
“I had the opportunity to buy some tickets from Sens seasons ticket holders but I didn’t want to because my dad is a Leafs fan and I felt that was a poor policy, so we just bought our tickets from Capital Tickets and we’re going to go to the game that way,” Williams said.
Other Leafs fans have said they still plan to fill the seats wearing their jerseys with pride, so it will be interesting to the see the dynamic in Ottawa Saturday night.
