Oshawa man convicted of murdering girlfriend’s toddler sentenced to life

TORONTO, Ont. – A 27-year-old Oshawa man convicted of killing his girlfriend’s child will spend life behind bars, following a sentencing hearing on Friday.

Michael Monckton was convicted, earlier, of Second-Degree Murder in the death of Keagan Davis, over three years ago.

At the time, Keagan’s mother had come home to find her boyfriend performing CPR on her son.

The toddler had no vital signs when emergency crews arrived at the scene.

An autopsy revealed Keagan died of blunt-force trauma.
