Firefighters battle massive house fire in Markham

MARKHAM, Ont. – The residents of a Markham home were able to escape unhurt after a large house fire engulfed the property Thursday evening.
Fire officials said at least nine trucks were at the scene of the blaze that started shortly after 6 p.m. at a Wincanton Road home in the 14th Avenue and Brimley Road area.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
According to a CityNews report, a dog and two cats are unaccounted for.
The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
