Well!!! all these Comments about Tim Horten,s Staff Rolling Up The Rim, before the Customer,s Can I ask How do You!!! Know This??? I certainly haven,t notice anything different! with any Roll Up The Rim Coffee Cup!. Hate Tim,s That much!!! stay away, I,m sure they arn,t going to lose any Money. By Your NOT!!! Being there.
How about rolling down the prices for a change? That’s what people need from large corporations, not a hope of winning 1 in 6!!
Tim Hortons food and drink sucks! Even offering possible prizes I wouldn’t go there! Makes me sick just thinking about their stuff! I have no idea WHY so many people like it there! There are many places to go for a better coffee or a better lunch/snack.
they make enough money they should give more real prizes i never knew any body won except free coffee or doughnut
If you understand mathematics and statistics then yes, you have 1 in 6 chances to win. Doesn’t mean you WILL but it’s mathematically proven that you will win one every 6 you roll up.
Mandy, unfortunately, that’s not how odds work. Think of it like flipping a quarter…if 100 people flip a quarter, the probability of hitting either heads or tails should be exactly 50% or 1 out of 2 for every flip. After the first flip, the expected outcome based on odds would be that 50 of the people got heads and 50 got tails. You always have to account for the randomness variable though. After 10 flips, there could be some people in that original 100 who got tails all 10 times, and possibly some that hit heads all 10 times. There will be people who buy three coffees a day for the entire promotion who will not win anything. There will also be people who keep winning and winning off of their free coffees. That’s what keeps it fun.
Well surely the TH staff will have fun rolling up the rims and taking out the good prized cups, and roll the rims back down and place the cups back in their sleeves for all to lose with.
Yeah they do this. You can tell when you get your coffee, the rim had been rolled up already.
Sally – Tim Horton’s employee and family are not allowed to redeem prizes themselves. OK, they might give it off to friends or sell it away but that’s so hard for an employee to do especially with cameras everywhere. So even if you managed to find a few already rolled up…that’s very rare as I’ve never come across one pre-rolled cup. I think the proactive thing would be to tell the manager of the Tim Horton’s you’ve found these at…just saying.
OK well now THAT would be a worthy headline for the day.
Hmmm, just wondering 1 in 6 chances to WIN, does that mean if someone buy six cups of coffee and that person are sure to roll up a prize? Or another marketing idea to say roll up your quarters
and try again.
What – this isn’t the lead headline for the day?
A marker signaling that winter is coming to a end, thank goodness.
Must not be much in the news for this to make one of the top headlines on 680!!
Fantastic, always manage to score a few coffees over the duration of this…
Yay!!! Roll up the rim to LOSE is finally back!!!!!
I totally agree 100 % with you “Roll Up The Rim to Loose”.
