TORONTO, Ont. – With many in Toronto still busy digging themselves out of the snow, now it appears we’ll have to deal with some freezing rain.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for most of southern Ontario, including the GTA, warning of freezing rain Sunday evening.

The weather could cause some difficult driving conditions, according to Meteorologist Harold Hosein.

“As warmer air moves in the precipitation will begin as freezing rain across the GTA this evening, likely around 8 p.m., but should change to rain after midnight as the temperature continues to rise,” Hosein said.

The low pressure system from Colorado will bring warm air which is expected to melt much of Friday’s massive snowfall.
