TORONTO, Ont. – A widespread power outage that affected thousands of people in the Bayview and Eglinton Avenues area has now ended, with power being restored.
Before the outage two tipsters called 680News and reported hearing at least two loud bangs, perhaps indicating a blown transformer.
Several other 680News listeners reported hearing the bangs from as far away as East York, with a Twitter user saying the power was also out in the Bennington Heights area.
There has been no official word on the cause.
