A 46-year-old man from the small town of Udora, Ontario, was killed Friday night after a snowmobile crash in the Uxbridge area.
The man was driving a Polaris 800 snowmobile when he collided with a Ford F250 truck that had a plow attached and was being used to plow a driveway, police said.
The snowmobile, being operated by the 46-year-old man, was driving northbound on Concession Road 7 near Ravenshoe Road when the crash happened.
The truck was being operated by a 24-year-old Udora male, according to police.
The snowmobile driver was rushed to Uxbridge Cottage Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
An investigation was conducted but there has been no word on the cause of the crash and whether any charges will be laid.

No he most certainly did NOT have a deathwish! He lived life to it’s fullest, He worked long hours at his job and at home. When he wasn’t working he was spending time with his family, they went snowmobiling, camping, had bonfires, etc. He’d give the shirt off his back to help anyone who needed it,He trusted people maybe to a fault. He loved life, good friends, classic rock, laughter But most of all He loved his children and his Mom. I have so many wonderful memories of him, so many things that make me laugh out loud. I am so full of sadness that he is gone, and angry that people would say such ignorant things about someone, without knowing him or considering the feelings of those who loved and cared for him. Shame on you all.
I can’ believe you people would write such horrible comments about a man you know nothing about. This man was not an idiot or retarded in any way, and he certainly did not have a death wish. He was riding his sled where he was SUPPOSE to be riding it, and someone plowing a driveway came out of it obviously not seeing him. We don’t live in Toronto or Brampton, this man was not on the highway or sharing the road with cars. Jeff is right this was a horrific accident, have some respect for the dead and for his famiy!!
To all who think this man had a death wish….think ago…half of you probably never even opperated a sled in your life….46 year old man, a father, a son — and much more lost his life and all you people can think of is this?….I live in the area and knew this man. He had a wish to live life not end it. Ever think that this was an accident? Have you never been driving and almost hit the guy making his living by plowing out drives so we can get to work…?….I have, when they back out of the drive to go back in all it takes is for someone to be riding off the road on the shoulder WHERE SLEDS ARE TO RIDE, and bang. The sled is at ground level the truck has a major blind spot. This is a horrific accident. To the fam my thoughts and prayers and to those who are writing this junk about him being an idoit what if this was your dad? Have some respect for the dead.
I agree he had a death wish
Why people does crazy things? Yestarday I show to snowmobilest on Bovaird W(HWY 7) in strom driving on road along with cars. It was hard to drive cars on road and don’t understand why they were riding their snowmobile and sharing road.
Why are there so many idiots out there?! It’s truly amazing especially when you see such acts of retarded thinking like cycling in thick snow storm of all places in downtown Toronto. These people have a death wish…don’t feel sorry for them
