MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating after a vehicle driving at a high speed on Dundas Street near Mississauga Road went off the roadway early Thursday, crashing into an embankment.

The SIU said police noted a white Audi driving at a high rate of speed on Dundas Street near Mississauga Road at about 2:30 a.m.

Police pursued the vehicle when it turned south on to Mississauga Road.

The SIU said after another 300 metres, the Audi drove off the roadway and over an embankment on Mississauga Road.

The 20-year-old male driver was taken to Credit Valley Hospital for a non-life threatening head injury. A female passenger sustained minor injuries.

The SIU has assigned three investigators, two forensic investigators and a collision reconstructionist to probe the accident.

The SIU investigates incidents involving police where there has been a death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
