Hamilton mother charged with making pornography of her children

HAMILTON, Ont. – A 46-year-old Hamilton mother is facing charges after allegedly taking child pornography images of her three children and distributing it via email to an overseas penpal.

The Hamilton Police Service was alerted in January when U.K. authorities arrested a 50-year-old London man for possession of indecent images of children.

Police said an investigation by British authorities revealed that a Hamilton woman had sent several images of her children to the man.

Police arrested the Hamilton woman Thursday at her Toronto workplace after executing a search warrant at her east-end Hamilton residence.

Police also seized computers and devices from the home.

The three children were removed and the Catholic Children’s Aid Society was notified, police said.

The accused woman, who was not identified to protect the children, is charged with distributing child pornography, possession of child pornography and making child pornography.

An investigation is ongoing.
