TORONTO, Ont. – The city will host the first of four public consultation sessions to gather input on future transportation priorities Monday evening.
The first public meeting will be at the York Civic Centre. The public is encouraged to join the conversation between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.
A facilitated discussion will take place at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
The open houses are a part of a new campaign called “Feeling Congested?”
The city has also set up a website, which allows users to rank transportation priorities and funding methods, including whether new transit dollars should come from a sales tax or other tax hikes.
Input gathered in the campaign will be used to help the city provide feedback to the province on priority projects.

I would love to see dedicated lanes strictly for transit. Buses are small and stink (as much as I love the diesel adding to more stagnating vehicles in rush hour is not good) – also people stink.
One way is to make/develop/create trolley – think streetcar but with wheels or subway – best alternative.
Would also love dedicated lane ways for buses only.
Let the inane bickering begin….
Actually buses are doing more damage to the roads than streetcars. Have you seen the ruts in the road at most bus stops. They just repaired the roadway at Lawrence West Station for the seventh time in less than 10 years because of the hybrid buses.
Hybrid buses are breaking down on a daily basis. Just count the number of them on a tow truck everyday. At one point there were five breaking down daily when they were first introduced.
Streetcars and LRT cars (they are NOT the same) carry almost twice as many more passengers than a bus.
So, how are buses better that streetcars and LRT cars?
The difference between streetcars and LRT cars – streetcars have controls at one end and require a loop and LRT cars have controls at both ends and only require a crossover with no loop
How about we eliminate antiquated streetcar service, along with endless delays while roads are ripped up and tracks are replaced? Buses are so much more flexible, and there’s the potential to use a hybrid. At the same time the eyesore that is wires hanging over the roads would be gone too.
