Super Bowl 47 on Sunday

The Baltimore Ravens take on the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday. The kickoff is at 6:30 p.m.

It’s the first time in Super Bowl history that brothers will lock horns as opposing head coaches — Baltimore’s John Harbaugh versus San Francisco’s Jim Harbaugh.

Both teams come into the big game undefeated in Super Bowl play in their histories, so one team’s record is going to be tarnished by the time it’s all over.

The Ravens’ Ray Lewis will play the last game of his career on Sunday as well, and some believe that last ride could be enough to give the Ravens an emotional advantage that could be too much for the 49ers to overcome.

Both teams are considered gritty, with the Ravens having a reputation for having a bone-crunching defence and tough running game. Quarterback Joe Flacco has also been strong this year, complementing the Raven’s inside game with solid passing.

The 49ers meanwhile are a tough offensive team led by dynamic young quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who won the starting job this year and has not looked back.
