A rodent infestation has closed down a Kensington Market fish shop that has been serving people for 50 years.

The closure comes after photos of rats were posted online by a Reddit user, drawing the attention of Toronto Public Health.

The shop was forced to close and workers have been cleaning for the last 24 hours.

The owner said he is working closely with Toronto Public Health and a notice posted on the door says the shop has passed its latest inspection.

The store is expected to reopen on Friday.
