TORONTO, Ont. – Lights are out for some after a hydro vault fire in midtown Toronto Monday.
The outage was caused by a fire that involved a hydro vault near Deer Park Crescent in the Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue area at 11 a.m.
The power outage spans Kilbarry Road to Cottingham Street and Mount Pleasant Road to Walmer Road, according to Toronto Hydro.
Toronto Hydro is estimating it will be about midnight before everyone is powered back up.
Workers at a nearby building were evacuated after the fire.
Upper Canada College closed early due to the power outage.
