A problem affecting the Visa system that prevented consumers from using their credit cards on Monday afternoon is now over for the most part.
The network issue was reportedly countrywide by people with cards issued by various banks.
680News listeners had reported having Visa cards rejected.
“I got declined and I didn’t have enough cash with me so I was a little bit embarrassed,” one woman said after having her Visa rejected during a transaction.
Credit card users across the country took social media websites earlier in the day to complain that their cards were being declined when they tried to use them.

I never have a problem with cash. And neither does anyone else.
I have a few problems with cash. Cash lacks 30 days of 0% financing. Cash also lacks rewards, such as cash back. Also amazon.com doesn’t seem to work when I shove my cash into my monitor. Cash has plenty of problems.
Actually, some airlines will not take cash on the plane.
This is exactly why I have both a Mastercard and a VISA card! (although to be honest I use the Mastercard 99% of the time and I’ve only experienced a couple of outages personally in the last 20 years)
