For singles: Throw back a shot for Robbie Burns at one of many celebrations for the Scottish poet. A dram of whiskey makes a perfect chaser to a slice of haggis. The Caledonian, which bills itself as the city’s only authentic Scottish pub, is hosting a weeklong series of events, while in the east end, McGugan’s in Leslieville is hosting a dinner on Friday. For charity: Performers from all over Toronto are coming together to raise money for girls all over the world. Comedians, dancers, musicians and actors will perform in Shine Cabaret to benefit the Because I Am A Girl campaign. Studio Danzon, 104-2480 Dundas St. W. For kicks: Take a peek behind closed doors at one of Toronto’s oldest hotels as the Gladstone opens up to artists’ installations.
