MILTON, Ont. – It was a chilly labour of love on the eastbound Highway 401 in Milton, Thursday.
A woman gave birth to a baby girl at the side of the road in -18 C temperatures, with the windchill.
Police told 680News the mother and father were on their way to a hospital in Brampton, Ont., at around 3:30 a.m., when it became clear the baby wasn’t going to wait.
They called 911 and were assisted by Halton police Sgt. Ryan Snow, who responded to the scene.
Both mother and daughter are doing well and resting in hospital.
