MANILA, Philippines – Members of six K-pop groups have started descending on Manila, trailed by shrieking Filipino fans at their hotels and news conference, for what is billed as the biggest such concert in the Philippines.

U-Kiss, Infinite and Tahiti members arrived Friday for the “Dream K-pop Fantasy Concert.” Girls Generation, EXO and Tasty are joining Saturday’s outdoor concert near Manila Bay.

U-Kiss member Kevin Woo says their first concert was in Manila so the band has a special connection with Filipinos fans. His colleague Eli Kim is glad to be in tropical weather after South Korea’s cold winter.

Kim Sung-gyu of Infinite says K-pop’s influence in Asia and other parts of the world makes him proud and inspires him. His band mate, Nam Woo-hyun, says they plan to perform all over Asia.
