Police charge suspect in fatal Bleecker Street stabbing

TORONTO, Ont. – A 19-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing of a 23-year-old man on Bleecker Street last month.

Trestan Brown of Toronto turned himself in to police Friday evening.

Police identified the victim as Glenton Gibson also of Toronto.

On Dec. 20, two men were stabbed in an altercation at an apartment on Bleecker Street near Sherbourne Street and Wellesley Street.

Police believe the wounded men left the building via a stairwell, and collapsed from their injuries while running on the street.

Both men were transported to a trauma centre, where Gibson succumbed to his wounds.

Brown is charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder and failing to comply with recognizance.
