Ontario’s high school teachers to stage political protest

TORONTO, Ont. – The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation says its members will stage a one-day political protest on Jan. 16. if the province has not repealed Bill 115.
Late Wednesday, the OSSTF say its members will schedule a day of political protest for if the government has not repealed Bill 115, rescinded the imposed contracts and restored free collective bargaining.
“It is regrettable that the provincial government has chosen to continue down this path and not respect the rights of education workers,” Ken Coran, the union’s president, said in a release.
Tens of thousands of Ontario elementary teachers are set to stage a one-day political protest Friday over the government’s decision to impose the contracts.
