While New Year’s Eve was being celebrated all around the world, some astronauts, including a Canadian, were celebrating from outer space.
Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield sent his greeting back to Earth.
“It is a tremendous priviledge to be one of the new guys onboard the International Space Station,” Hadfield said.
“I want to wish everybody a very happy New Year.”
Hadfield arrived at the space station last Friday and is scheduled to stay until May.
He will take command of the station in March.
