Thornhill woman wins $50-million Lotto Max jackpot

TORONTO, Ont. – A Thornhill woman and newly-minted multi-millionaire says her $50-million Lotto Max jackpot win is “unbelievable.”

Susan Flam was the single winner in Friday night’s Lotto Max draw. She claimed the win with her husband Monday.

“I can’t even describe how unbelievable it feels,” she said.

She purchased the winning ticket at Fairview Mall in North York.

The jackpot trumps her formerly big win of $83, she says.

The mother of three and grandmother of five is unsure of how she will spend the jackpot and says she will wait until the new year to make concrete plans.

“My motto is always pay it forward if you have everything,” she said.

“If you have something, you should always help those who need it so I’m going to do the best I can to help.”

Meanwhile, Ontario Lottery and Gaming says the winning ticket for $50 million from the Nov. 30 Lotto Max draw has not been claimed. The ticket was sold in Cambridge. Ont.

Next Friday’s Lotto Max draw will be worth approximately $12 million.
