65 calories in a candy cane – is it worth the indulgence?

It’s the time of year where sugary treats, gravy soaked turkey, and a glass of eggnog can only be resisted for so long.

If you’re wondering what the calorie count of the turkey and trimmings piled on the plate will cost you, we’ve got your answer.

The Globe and Mail has put together the calorie count for some of the most popular holiday meal items beginning with three ounces of turkey.

That portion of turkey adds up to 270 calories and seven grams of fat.

To burn those calories off you’ll have to walk for an hour and half at a slow pace, according to prohealth.com.

Two glasses of wine are worth 240 calories, but the bright side is there’s no fat.

Prohealth.com suggested that dancing for 45-minutes will burn off those calories.

If eggnog and one and a half ounces of run added to it will be 320 calories and ten grams of fat; which is the same as stuffing at 300 calories and nine grams of fat.

To burn off those calories, prohealth.com, suggested 45 minutes of skating leisurely.
