Busiest travel day of the year, Friday

TORONTO, Ont. – The holiday hustle and bustle are in high-gear at Pearson International Airport, Friday, where the busiest travel day of the year is underway.

Around 105,000 travellers expected to pass through the airport, according to the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.

It’s expected that almost two-million people will go through the airport this holiday season and onto their final destinations to celebrate the holidays.

Passengers are reminded to be aware of restrictions on liquids, gels and aerosols when packing their carry-on luggage.

Also those planning to bring gifts on-board the flight are reminded to leave the gifts unwrapped as packages will be subject to inspection at security check points.

In 2011, Toronto Pearson handled 33.4 million passengers.
