Holiday feast at Wimpy’s Diner Sunday

The holidays can be a difficult time of the year for some and that’s why Wimpy’s Diner in south Scarborough is teaming up with the Anglican Church of St. Nicholas Birch Cliff for “The Amazing Christmas Feast.”

“This can be a difficult time for many individuals and families in our community,” said Deb Chapman, spokesperson for the St. Nicholas, Birch Cliff Anglican Church. “We would like to welcome all families and individuals in need to come out for a wonderful Christmas feast.”

Everyone in “need” is invited to come out for a free turkey dinner Sunday evening.

“It’s very festive and people can come and hang out and join in with all our parishers. You know it’s just an act of love, I think,” said Deb Chapman

She identified that there are many different types of need during the holiday season.

“People are struggling with all sorts of difficulties emotional difficulties, loss maybe, their lonely,” Chapman explained.

The amazing Christmas Feast begins at Wimpy’s Diner on Kingston Road, east of Warden at 4 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m.

Last year, 7,000 people attended the free “Amazing Christmas Feast.”
