TORONTO, Ont. – A man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a fire at a building on Dufferin Street near Davenport Road Thursday morning.
Firefighters apparently found smoke pouring out of a second-floor window when they arrived at 1490 Dufferin St. around 2:30 a.m. The building was evacuated and TTC buses were brought to the scene to shelter residents.
Firefighters managed to douse the blaze quickly.
The victim was taken to hospital for severe smoke inhalation — apparently without vital signs.
There’s no update yet on his current condition.
